The Midtown Economic Council (MEC) will hold a public meeting as it considers a proposal which would use $7,750,000 from the Midtown Tax Increment Finance District to leverage nearly $36 Million in total public and private investments in two key commercial nodes, 38th & Illinois and Broad Ripple Village. Baby Lapsit Family Storytime, April 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 at 10:30 a.m. Babies up to age 1 and an adult are invited for bounces, songs, tickles, books and rhymes. Participants will read, sing and have a good time making new friends!

 

Wee Readers at College Avenue, April 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 at 10:30 a.m. Preschoolers ages 3 - 5 and an adult are invited for stories, songs and movement activities geared just for them.

 

Job Center at the Library, April 3, 10, 17 & 24 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and April 7, 14, 21 & 28 from 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. In partnership with WorkOne and EmployIndy, the Library presents a free service for unemployed or underemployed individuals to receive one-on-one assistance to enhance their employment skills. The session will focus on job search strategies, interviewing skills, resume development, and instruction on basic computer skills. The Job Center is made possible by The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

 

Toddler Tales at College Avenue, April 3, 10, 17 & 24 at 10:30 a.m. Toddlers ages 1 - 2 and an adult are invited for stories, songs and movement activities geared just for them.

 

eBook Tinker Station, April 5 & 26 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Patrons are invited to learn how to select and use eReaders, as well as search and download materials from the Library's extensive collection of eBooks, audiobooks and digital music. Patrons can drop in anytime during this two-hour visit by the Library's traveling eBook Tinker Station, which is staffed by an eReader expert who can answer questions about the equipment and collection. The Station provides reliable and unbiased information about this growing technology. The Tinker Helpline is also available to call for answers to your questions at 275-4500. This service is made possible by The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

 

Monthly Drop-In Craft, April 8 from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Preschoolers, school-age children, teens and adults are invited to drop in anytime to create a simple but interesting craft. Younger children may need a caregiver's assistance.

 

Library Board of Trustees, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend the monthly meeting of the Library Board of Trustees and meet Board members. Call 275-4003 to confirm the time of the meeting.
